Sasha Cohen was born on October 26, 1984 in Westwood, California.  She started skating in 1992 and she currently trains with Rafael Arutunian.  In 2002 Sasha won the silver medal at the US Championships earning her a trip to the 2002 Winter Olympic Games.  She came in 4th place overall.  The season after, she won her first ISU Grand Prix event at the 2002 Skate America event and proceeded to win the 2002 Trophee Lalique.  She earned a spot to the 2002 ISU Grand Prix Final where she finished with the gold medal.  She placed second at both the 2004 US Championships as well as the 2004 World Championships, her first world medal.  She repeated this feat the following year.  Her shining moment was in 2006 when she won the Olympic Silver Medal in Torino.  She won her first US title in 2007. Following the 2006 Olympic Season, Sasha announced that she will not be competing the following season.  She announced in 2009 that she will make a comeback for the 2010 Olympic Games.
