Anna Jurkiewicz was born on February 9, 1984 in Oswiecim, Poland. She started skating in 1990 and currently trains with Iwona Mydlarz-Chruscinska. She won her first Junior National title in December 1996 and defended her title for the next three seasons. She won the silver medal at her two Junior Grand Prix Events in 1998 and qualified to compete at the ISU Junior Grand Prix Final making her the first and only Polish skater to do so. She is currently the three-time Polish National Champion.
